Marvel fans are picking up where Avengers: Infinity War left off in this hilarious TikTok meme.

The new trend is called “Thanos Snapped” and people are making point-of-view videos to share the worst ways the fallout of Infinity War could have affected them. Here’s how to join in on the fun.

What is the ‘Thanos Snap’ trend? 

User @goshuajonzalez is credited as the originator of the “Thanos Snapped” meme. 

“Pov: your food arrives after 45 minutes, but the Avengers lost,” his caption stated.

In his video, he’s served a burger and fries after 45 minutes of waiting, but then the “Thanos snap” kicks in and he slowly fades away before he can eat. The skit received 719,000 likes on TikTok.

What is the ‘Thanos Snap’ in the first place?

Thanos is one of the main villain in the Avengers film series. He has one goal: to eliminate half the population to save the universe. Thanos believes this will allow the remaining living beings to consolidate limited resources and create a world free of suffering.

At the end of Infinity War, Thanos acquired a gauntlet that allowed him to remove half the population with the snap of his fingers.

How to make a ‘Thanos Snapped’ meme

To make a “Thanos Snapped” TikTok like @imseanphillippe, all you really need is to use the “Thanos Snapped” sound. When you record your video, be sure to select the “Ghost” effect (also known as “Out of Body” effect) the moment you vanish in order to look like your body is fading away.
